25 years of ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’ Cast reunites to celebrate iconic show’s Silver Jubilee

New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) Some shows are not just watched, they're experienced. For millions of Indian households in the early 2000s, evenings truly began only after the familiar tune of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii played on TV.
Now, as the iconic family drama marks its 25th anniversary, nostalgia has returned with a heartwarming cast reunion.
Last evening, actor Shweta Kawatra, known for playing the memorable antagonist Pallavi Agarwal, shared a special video on Instagram. The clip featured Sakshi Tanwar (Parvati), Sweta Keswani (Avantika), Sucheta Trivedi (Shilpa), and Kawatra herself, joyfully slipping back into their beloved roles and reliving cherished memories.
“Met as strangers, Hung as friends, Became a tribe, 25 years or 25 blinks ... We wouldn’t know, Coz for us,It’s all the same! Be it Bahus or Babuji, Be it memories or marriages, We did it all here, And we did it with Elan!” Kawatra wrote, tagging her co-stars and fellow actor Manav Gohil.
Celebrations extended to the show’s creator, Ektaa Kapoor, who marked the occasion with a heartfelt tribute. Sharing her thoughts on social media, Kapoor wrote, “25 years of this show! At 25, making a show on family values, culture, and an older couple that stood for morality, love, and warmth — and was symbolic of the Ramayan — was ironical, to say the least! Sakshi Tanwar and the whole cast of this show, along with the creative teams, made it a beacon of hope for those looking for a celebration of our culture that wasn’t often represented back then! Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii was too good to be true. But it was exactly what we all wanted to be. 25 years of this beautiful journey — and the best part is, Sakshi still looks the same!”
Premiering on October 16, 2000, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii ran for eight successful years, becoming one of Indian television’s most beloved and long-running serials. Headlined by Sakshi Tanwar as Parvati and Kiran Karmarkar as Om Agarwal, the show became a cultural phenomenon — portraying the values, complexities, and emotional fabric of Indian middle-class family life.
As the show completes a quarter-century, fans and cast alike are reminded of the golden era of Indian TV, one where every home knew the names of the onscreen bahus, and every twist in the kahaani became a topic of discussion across generations.
